WAY OF THE WIZARD hits stores on November 16th, but editor John Joseph Adams (The Living Dead, Lightspeed) has launched a website for the book that features 7 stories ABSOLUTELY FREE. One of them is my tale “The Thirteen Texts of Arthyria.” You can read it right here.
The site will also be running in-depth interviews with the WIZARD authors. My own interview will be posted on November 10.
Peace (& Wizardry)!
John
OK. This might sound weird but ‘arthyria’ was a word I thought I came up with when I was 13. Finding this now is… rather unusual. Hm, why, ‘arthyria’ – I suppose is, my question. How did the name come about?
Hi, bibi,
Great minds think alike! I’m pretty sure I came up with the word “Arthyria” for the fantasy world revealed in this story because it was derived from “Arthur”…as in “King Arthur.” Just one of those poetic word-twists that we fantasy writers try from time to time.
It’s funny: When I wrote my graphic novel PRIMORDIA, I thought I had invented that word. Come to find out there were several Primordia’s on the web, and Alan Moore had even used the word in an issue of PROMETHEA.
It just goes to show: Ideas are out there, floating in the imagino-sphere. We just tap into them.
Cheers!
John
